Hi! We’re the owners of Pothos Plant Shop!

Married in 2022, we didn’t always plan to share a business as well as a home. But when Homer was driving through one of his favorite Providence neighborhoods and saw the “for lease” sign plastered on the tall glass windows of 198 Ives Street, it didn’t take much convincing to get Hannah on board. We toured the space and saw the vision right away — the natural light was perfect for a little plant store. Before we knew it, we had a business plan, the support of our friends & family, and the keys to Pothos Plant Shop!

Born and raised outside of Rochester, New York, Hannah has her bachelors degree from SUNY Geneseo in Physical Geography and Environmental Studies with over a decade of professional experience in the plant industry. Getting her start by pulling weeds as a landscaper, she has experience from seed to sales floor in urban & organic gardening, commercial cannabis, and plant sourcing for one of New England’s top high end landscape companies. She’s the friendly face you’ll see behind the counter most days, but when she isn’t at Pothos or running around a greenhouse she teaches enrichment classes at a local elementary school.

A true Rhode Islander, Homer grew up South County RI and is a fixture in the RI Craft Beer industry. He has business savvy like Hannah has green thumbs; rather than manning the potting bench, Homer is keeping our small business running behind the scenes. If you’re lucky, you’ll catch him behind the Pothos counter spinning vinyl, taking plant inventory, brewing compost tea, and communicating with our vendors.
